Illya Shevtsov

Illya Shevtsov (Ukrainian: Ілля Сергійович Шевцов; born 13 April 2000) is a professional Ukrainian football midfielder who plays for Desna Chernihiv.

Club career

Krystal Kherson

Shevtsov started his professional football career at 15 years playing in the Ukrainian Second League for Krystal Kherson. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Second League in a home game against Real Pharma Odesa coming out as a substitute at the end of the game on 8 August 2015.[2] Earlier on 22 July 2015 Shevtsov also came out as a substitute in the away game against Real Pharma Odesa in the Ukrainian Cup.

Shakhtar Donetsk

In December 2016 he signed with Shakhtar Donetsk where he played for one year for the under-19 team.[3][4]

Desna 2 Chernihiv

He was noticed by Desna Chernihiv and in 2019 Shevtsov signed with Desna-2 Chernihiv[5][6][7]On 13 March 2020 he scored five goals in the match against Lviv 2[8]and in the 2019–20 UPL championship among under-21 team he became a top scorer.[9][10]

Desna Chernihiv

In summer 2020, Illya Shevtsov was included in the main team of Desna Chernihiv against VfL Wolfsburg for the Europa League third qualifying round at the AOK Stadion and played in the second half replacing Pylyp Budkivskyi.[11] On 24 October 2020 he scored his first goal, the winning goal for a 0–2 win against Olimpik Donetsk at the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium for the Ukrainian Premier League in the season 2020-21.[12][13] On 30 January 2021 he scored against KF Shkëndija in the second half in the friendly match ended 3–1 for Desna.[14] On 9 February 2021, he scored again in the friendly match against Ventspils in Turkey, ended 2–3 for Ventspils.[15]

Inhulets Petrove (On Loan)

In March 2021 he moved on loan to Inhulets Petrove until the end of the season.[16][17][18] He made his debut with the new team against Kolos Kovalivka, replacing Nika Sichinava[19]On 3 April 2021 he scored his first goal with the new team against Mariupol by penalty.[20]On 2 May 2021 he scored against Olimpik Donetsk at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin in Chernihiv ended 0–3.[21][22]

Desna Chernihiv

In summer 2021, Illya Shevtsov returned to Desna Chernihiv.[23]On 15 July 2021 he scored at the 64 minute of the second half, by penalty in a friendly match against SC Chaika at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin.[24][25]On 25 July 2021, he made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League with the new club against Chornomorets Odesa at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin, replacing Pylyp Budkivskyi at the 81 minute.[26]On 29 August 2021 he played against Veres Rivne in the Ukrainian Premier League in the season 2021-22 at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin replacing Pylyp Budkivskyi at the 74 minute.[27][28]On 26 September 2021 he played against Metalist Kharkiv in the Ukrainian Premier League at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin, replacing Oleksiy Kovtun at the 86 minute.[29]On 17 October 2021 he played against Mynai at the Avanhard Stadium replacing Pylyp Budkivskyi at the 84 minute.[30]On 30 October 2021 he played against Shakhtar Donetsk in Kyiv at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, replacing Vladyslav Kalitvintsev at the 85 minute.[31][32]On 7 November 2021 he played from the first minute in the team against Lviv at the Arena Lviv.[33]On 15 November 2021 he played against Olimpik Donetsk in the friendly match at the Bannikov Stadium in Kyiv.[34][35]On 5 December 2021, he replaced Denys Bezborodko at the 78 minute of the second half against Mariupol at the Chernihiv Stadium in the Ukrainian Premier League and at the 80 minute he gave a pass for the goal of Vikentiy Voloshyn.[36][37]On 25 January 2022 he scored in the friendly match against Livyi Bereh Kyiv at the Stadion "Livyi Bereh" Hnidyn in Kyiv.[38]On 11 February 2022 he was included in the team for the preparation in Turkey for the second half of the season and he played against Velež Mostar in the friendly match replacing Vikentiy Voloshyn at the 37 minute of the first half.[39][40][41]On 17 February he scored by penalty against Torpedo Kutaisi at the 60 minute in a friendly match.[42][43]On 20 February 2022 he played in the friendly match against Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih at the Asteria Football Center in Antalya and been replaced by Bohdan Sheyko at the 84 minute.[44][45]

International career

In 2017 Shevtsov was on the Ukraine under-17 team helping it qualify for the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Croatia.[46] He played seven games and scored a goal.[46] Shevtsov did not make the squad to go for the finals.

He was included in the team of Ukraine U21 for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group 8, which made him the first player from Desna Chernihiv to be included in Ukraine U21.[47] On 9 October 2020, he made his debut in Ukraine U21 against Romania U21, replacing Danylo Sikan at the 66 minute of the second half.[48][49]

On 13 November 2020, he scored his first goal with the Ukraine U21 against Malta U21 on the away victory 1–4 away at the Gozo Stadium, Gozo for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group 8.[50]

Personal life

He is a son of Ukrainian footballer and coach Serhiy Shevtsov.[3]
