Paliganj

Paliganj is a city in Patna district, Bihar state, India. It is a subdivision of Patna District and an Assembly Constituency in Patna district. At the census of 2011, Paliganj had a population of 254,904; the city is approximately 60 km (37 mi) from Patna.

In the 2015 state assembly election, Jai Vardhan Yadav of the RJD defeated Ram Janm Sharma of the BJP by a margin of 24,453 votes.[1] Paliganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of Pataliputra (Lok Sabha constituency).[2]

Tourism

Ular Sun Temple is situated at a distance of 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from Paliganj. It is a historical sun temple and people believe that this temple is one of twelve sun temples built by King Samb on the advice of God Krishna. Another monument in this region is Mughal Age Library, situated at Bharatpura. This library is known as Gopal Narayan Public Library.
