A new terminal of 6,000 sq meters is under construction on Kanpur Prayagraj National Highway.

The new terminal will consist of six hangars and a waiting room for 300 passenger and four-lane connectivity from the highway. It will be completed by mid-2022. It will be a 4-star GRIHA (Green Buildings Rating System India) rated energy efficient building equipped with eight check-in counters.[8]

Flights to Varanasi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Goa, Bengaluru and Chennai would cater the traffic from Kanpur.
