Galați-class cargo ship

The Galați-class cargo ship is a class of cargo ship built at the Galați shipyard in Galați, Romania that entered service with People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) in the early 1970s. Intended to replace Dandao-class cargo ship, Galati-class instead serviced alongside its predecessor for a long time before finally retired. Originally intended to be succeeded by Qiongsha-class cargo ship, Galati-class remained in PLAN service alongside its intended successor due to heavy need, before finally retired after decades of service. A total of two ships of Galati-class were delivered to China and both are capable of carrying 3,750 tons of cargo and 250 tons of fuel.[1]
