History

The Institution was established in 2010, in the memory of A.B.A Ghani Khan Chowdhury,under the mentorship of NIT Durgapur, the foundation was done by Smt Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singh , the foundation stone was laid by former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

Campus

The college has 4 academic buildings, 1 administrative building, 2 hostels, 1 library and computing centre building,1 workshop building, staff quarters, and 1 canteen, with 101 acres of land, it has got both football and cricket ground. More constructions are going on. The construction department is guided by NIT Rourkela, civil engineering department.

Academic programmes

The institution offers 4 years Bachelor of Technology program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Food Technology department, besides 3 years Diploma are also available in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science and Food Technology.

Admission

The admissions to Bachelor of Technology program which is affiliated to MAKAUT is done through JOSAA counseling and JEE Mains result, while the diploma admission is done through the Institution's entrance Examination. 50% seats are reserved for the students of West Bengal, 25% are reserved for North East India candidates and the remaining 25% for states other than West Bengal and North East States.

Achievements

The college won Smart India Hackathon 2020 organized by MHRD in the Renewable Energy department.

The institute was listed in 2021 ATAL Ranking by MHRD under the most Promising Institute,(Institute of National Importance/CFTI) category.
