1984 Washington gubernatorial election
The 1984 Washington gubernatorial election was held on November 6, 1984. Incumbent Republican John Spellman ran for re-election to a second term of the result to despite of his party's presidential candidate's landslide re-election, but was defeated by Democrat Booth Gardner. As of 2022, this was the most recent Washington gubernatorial election in which both candidates are now deceased.
