History

The first written mention of Zdice is from 1148. It was probably founded in 1039. In 1872, it became a market town and in 1994, it became a town.[2]

Until 1918, the town was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), in the Hořovice district, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften (district administrative authorities) in Bohemia.[3]
