Zach Verhoven

Zachary "Zach" Verhoven (born 17 August 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Atlético Ottawa.

Club career

TSS FC Rovers

Verhoven spent summers playing for PDL side TSS FC Rovers in 2017 and 2018.[1] In 2017, Verhoven made eleven appearances, scoring two goals, and in 2018 he made ten appearances, scoring three goals.[1]

Pacific FC

On November 12, 2018, Verhoven was drafted by Pacific FC in the second round of the 2018 CPL–U Sports Draft.[2] He signed a contract with the club on April 27, 2019.[3] He made his professional debut on May 1, against Valour FC.[4] Verhoven scored his first professional goal on his 21st birthday, August 17, against York9.[5] In October 2020 Verhoven was released by Pacific by mutual consent.[6]

Atlético Ottawa

On April 15, 2021, Verhoven signed with Atlético Ottawa for the 2021 season.[7] He made his first appearance for Ottawa in their season-opener on June 26 against FC Edmonton. Verhoven scored his first goal for the club on July 19 against FC Edmonton.[8] In January 2022 Atlético Ottawa announced they had re-signed Verhoven on a two-year deal, with an option for 2024.[9]

International career

In September 2021 it was reported that Fiji were interested in having Verhoven join the program ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifcation campaign.[10]
