Tunnel Fire (2022)

The Tunnel Fire is an active wildfire burning in the Coconino National Forest and the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, approximately 14 miles northeast of the city of Flagstaff, Arizona in the United States. The fire is named after a tunnel landmark on Waterline Road, near where it ignited on Sunday, April 17, 2022.[2] As of 25 April 2022, it has burned 19,075 acres (7,719 ha) and is 89% contained.[3][4] The exact cause of the fire is unknown.
