Sinead McLaughlin

Sinead McLaughlin is a Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) politician who served as Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Foyle constituency - Derry - in the Northern Ireland Assembly from January 2020 to March 2022.[1] She has been the SDLP's spokesperson for the recovery from Covid-19, the chair of the Northern Ireland Assembly's executive office committee and deputy chair of the Assembly's economy committee. She is an SDLP candidate for the Assembly elections in May 2022. She is a former chief executive of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.

Her manifesto for the election includes a programme of creating well paid jobs in Derry; the expansion of university provision; strengthening women's and civic rights; and taking stronger action on climate change, including an accelerated programme of investment in offshore wind and other renewable energy sources.
