Shekong is a village located in the Astore District of Pakistan. Near Gudai Valley this valley has very important geographical location because it is the corridor of Nala.In this village more then 5 tribes are present, but Famous tribes are Karimi, Hussani ,Lokorai they have prominent notables who play vital role in Astore.late AIG (r) Muhammad Mustafa who is Son of Khan Shakoor Khan and Nephew of Khan Abdullah Khan also belongs to this village.He was one of the top bureaucrat of Gilgit Baltistan and first Police officer from Shekong and Gudai village.He served in FIA as well.He remained as SSP of almost all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and retired as AIG from GB Police.First ever Member of Village council elected belongs to Karimi Family Khan Juma Khan who won election with help of all public of Shekong.This village has most important role in politics of Astore Halqa one. Deputy General Secretary of PPP Gilgit Baltistan Atiq Ur Rahman also belongs to this Village.
