Orange Line (Kanpur Metro)

The Orange Line (Line 1) (Hindi: ऑरेंज लाइन) of the Kanpur Metro is a metro route of mass rapid transit system in Kanpur. The priority section of the line was inaugurated on December 28, 2021, by the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi.[1] This line is the first line of the Kanpur Metro to be operationalized.[2] In the first phase, a 9 km section of the route was opened, which is fully elevated. 9 stations were also opened on this priority section of the line as well.[3] The total length of the route will be 23.8 km among which 15.2 km will be elevated, and 8.6 km will be underground.[4] The line will have a total of 21 stations when the entire line is commissioned.[5]
