Nová Pec (German: Neuofen) is a municipality and village in Prachatice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants.

Geography
Nová Pec lies approximately 29 kilometres (18 mi) south of Prachatice, 48 km (30 mi) south-west of České Budějovice, and 152 km (94 mi) south of Prague. It lies on the border with Austria.
Nová Pec is located in the Bohemian Forest mountain range. Plechý, with 1,378 metres (4,521 ft) the highest mountain of the Czech part of the mountain range, is located in the municipal territory. Most of the built-up area is located in the eastern part of the municipality on the banks of the Vltava River.
