Nikamma

Nikamma is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action romantic comedy film starring Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dassani, and Shirley Setia.[1] It is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Shabbir Khan Films and Sony Pictures India.[2] Filming started in July 2019 and wrapped up in November 2020.[3] Nikamma is Setia's debut film and also marks the comeback of Shetty after her 14-year sabbatical.[4] Initially scheduled for a June 2020 release, it was indefinitely postponed due to production halt and theatres shutdown owing to COVID-19 pandemic.[5] It is scheduled to be released on 17 June 2022.[6]

Production

The movie Nikamma was announced in June 2019.[7] It marks the comeback of Shilpa Shetty into films after a sabbatical of 14 years.[8] Principal photography kicked off in July 2019, and Shetty joined the sets next month.[2] The shooting was stopped in March 2020 owing to COVID-19 pandemic in India, before resuming in October 2020 and wrapping up in first week of November 2020.[9]
