Michael Jackson Talks ... to Oprah
On February 10, 1993, Oprah Winfrey interviewed pop legend, Michael Jackson at Neverland Valley Ranch. During the interview, Jackson talked about some of his childhood traumas and addressed some tabloid stories. Jackson denied tabloid rumors that he had bought the bones of the Elephant Man, slept in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, or bleached his skin, and stated for the first time that he had vitiligo.[1] The interview later became the most-watched interview on British or American television.[2]

The interview
On February 10th, Jackson invited journalist, Oprah Winfrey into his home for an interview. During the interview, Jackson talked about his life growing up and how his father would mentally and physically abuse him.[3] In front of 90 million people, Winfrey asked Michael if he was a virgin or not.[4]
In the theater, Michael exclusively showed Oprah how he performed his Moonwalk. Jackson also beatboxed and sang his new hit single; "Who Is It". Oprah asked Michael if he believed in higher power and he answered with, "I believe in God. Absolutely. Very much."
Oprah, then asked Michael, "What do you want to be known for now?" Michael simply said, "I just want to be loved".
