MKB Bank

MKB Bank, formerly Magyar Külkereskedelmi Bank (lit.'Hungarian Foreign Trade Bank'), is the fourth-biggest commercial bank in Hungary. Its privatisation started in 1994, when BayernLB purchased a minority stake. Hungarian government bought it back in 2014.[1]

The MKB Bank is the main sponsor of the MKB Veszprém handball club.

MKB Bank, majority owned by PM Viktor Orbán’s fast-emerging, childhood friend Lőrinc Mészáros and pro-government construction mogul László Szíjj, has financed by loan the campaign of French radical right presidential candidate, Marine le Pen. The recently-published asset declarations of France’s presidential candidates reveal that le Pen received some EUR 10.7 million in total.
