Lokman Yusof
Lokman bin Yusof (11 September 1910[1][2] – 15 May 1972) was the first Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia since it was officially conferred the status of a city on 1 February 1972. He formerly served as the Federal Capital Commissioner prior to his mayorship. Lokman died on 15 May 1972 and was succeeded by Yaacob Abdul Latiff.
In this Malay name, there is no family name. The name Yusof is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Lokman. The Arabic-derived word "bin" or "binti"/"binte", if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
