Kothth
Kotthu (transl. Chop) is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language political thriller film directed by Sibi Malayil and written by Hemanth Kumar.[1] It stars Asif Ali, Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles and features Roshan Mathew, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna and Vijilesh Karayad in supporting roles. Prasanth Raveendran handles the cinematography and Jakes Bejoy composes the original score while Kailas Menon composes the original songs.[2] Producer Ranjith and P. M. Sasidharan produce the film under the banner Gold Coin Motion Picture Company.[3]

Premise
Inspired from real life incidents, the film tells the life of political party workers from Northern Kerala and their clashes due to their thirst for bloodshed and rebellion.[4][5]

Production
Principal photography of the film began on 10 October 2020 at Kozhikode following the COVID-19 protocols and safety measures. Kotthu is actor Asif Ali's fourth collaboration with director Sibi Malayil after Apoorvaragam, Violin and Unnam.[3] The first schedule of the filming at Kozhikode was completed on 25 October 2020.[6][7]
