It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Satakunta region. The population of Karvia is 2,289 (31 December 2021)[2] and the municipality covers an area of 501.90 km2 (193.78 sq mi) of which 17.90 km2 (6.91 sq mi) is inland water (1 January 2018).[1] The population density is 4.56/km2 (11.8/sq mi).
Twin town of Karvia is Viru-Nigula in Estonia since 1994.
