Climate

Kamigōri has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) with hot summers and cool to cold winters. Precipitation is significantly higher in summer than in winter, though on the whole lower than most parts of Honshū, and there is no significant snowfall. The average annual temperature in Kamigōri is 14.6 °C (58.3 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,302.2 mm (51.27 in) with July as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 26.8 °C (80.2 °F), and lowest in January, at around 3.2 °C (37.8 °F).[2] The highest temperature ever recorded in Kamigōri was 37.5 °C (99.5 °F) on 9 August 2006; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −10.3 °C (13.5 °F) on 9 January 2021.[3]
