Joe Vitiello

Joseph David Vitiello (/ˌvɪtiˈɛl/; born April 11, 1970) is a former American professional baseball player who was a designated hitter from 1995-2003. He played for the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, and Montreal Expos of Major League Baseball (MLB). He also played for the Orix BlueWave of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in 2001.

Vitiello attended the University of Alabama, and in 1989 and 1990 he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League.[1] He was selected by the Royals in the first round (7th overall) of the 1991 MLB Draft.
