Hussein Monzer

Hussein Ali Monzer (Arabic: حسين علي منذر, Lebanese Arabic pronunciation: [ħ(u)seːn ˈmonzir]; born 20 March 1997) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a midfielder for Lebanese Premier League club Ahed and the Lebanon national team.[3]

International career

Monzer represented the Lebanon national under-19 team during the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship qualification, playing three times and scoring once.[1] He also played for the U23 team during the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualification, playing in all three games,[4][5][6] as well as in two 2020 qualifications games, scoring against the Maldives in a 6–0 victory.[7]

He made his debut for the senior team on 30 July 2019, in a 1–0 defeat against Iraq at the 2019 WAFF Championship.[8]

Personal life

On 1 October 2020, Monzer tested positive for COVID-19 amid its pandemic in Lebanon;[9] he fully recovered on 15 October.[10]
