Encore (Yoasobi song)

"Encore" (アンコール, Ankōru) is a song recorded by Japanese music duo Yoasobi. It was released on January 6, 2021, the same day as "Kaibutsu", as a promotional single from their debut extended play (EP), The Book, through Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Later, the song was released as a standalone single on July 2,[1] the same day with the tenth single "Sangenshoku" and "Into the Night", the English version of "Yoru ni Kakeru"[2] to celebrate 100 million streaming figures and its own cover artwork.[1]

The song was based on the short story Sekai no Owari to, Sayonara no Uta (世界の終わりと、さよならのうた, "The End of the World, and the Song of Goodbye Song") by Kamina Minakami, which won the Yoasobi Contest Vol. 1, and also used for advertisement Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a (5G).[3] The English version of "Encore" was included on the duo's first English-language EP E-Side, was released on November 12.[4]
