Dobropillia

Dobropillia (Ukrainian: Добропілля, Russian: ДобропольеDobropolye) is a city in the Pokrovsk Raion of the Donetsk Oblast (province) in Ukraine. Prior to 2020, it was a city of oblast significance and served as the administrative center of the former Dobropillia Raion, though it did not belong to the raion.

History

A local newspaper is published here since February 1935.[3]

During the Second World War, the settlement was occupied by Axis troops. City since 1953. In 1970, the population of the city was 30 thousand people, the basis of the economy was coal mining.[4][5]
