David Mercier
David Maurice Mercier (July 20, 1939 – April 12, 2021) was a Canadian politician. He served in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1986 to 1991, as a Social Credit member for the constituency of Burnaby-Edmonds. He was a chartered accountant. Mercier was mayor of Burnaby, British Columbia from 1979 to 1981.[1]

He was the leader of the British Columbia Conservative Party between 1997 until 2001.[2] Mercier died in 2021 from complications of Parkinson's disease.[3][4]
