History

Coram Deo Academy (CDA) is a classical Christian school offering a University-Model® or five-day schedule for students in grades Pre-K to 12. CDA has three North Texas[1] campuses located in Collin County, Dallas, and Flower Mound. CDA is the largest Christian school, and the largest University-Model®[2] school in the nation.[3]

Students in CDA’s Signature Program attend courses on campus two days per week, with electives on Fridays. When students are not on campus, they work closely with a parent[4] to complete coursework. Parents have the freedom to customize their child’s schedule on the home days. Parents are equipped with assignments, due dates, and grades so they can effectively coach their students without having expertise in every subject.

Academic programs

Coram Deo Academy consists of a Grammar School (Elementary School, grades PreK-4), Logic School (Middle School, grades 5-8),[5] and Rhetoric School (High School, grades 9-12).[6] Students begin to study Latin in third grade, to develop logic and problem solving skills while reinforcing a student’s understanding of grammar and language.

Classical education focuses on the seven liberal arts:

The Trivium

1. Grammar (reading, writing, and speaking well)

2. Logic (thinking well)

3. Rhetoric (eloquence of writing and speech)

The Quadrivium

4. Arithmetic (pure numbers)

5. Geometry (numbers in space)

6. Music (numbers in time)

7. Astronomy (numbers in space and time)

Athletics and fine arts

Coram Deo Academy offers a number of sports, including basketball,[7] football, track,[8] volleyball,[9] and more. Fine arts programs include band,[10] choir,[11] speech and debate,[12] drama, visual arts, and more.
