Central and Northern Ostrobothnian dialects

Central and Northern Ostrobothnian dialects are western dialects of Finnish spoken in Northern and Central Ostrobothnia,[1] which are greatly influenced by Savonian dialects, the coastal dialects have less Savonian influence while inland they have more influence from Savonian.[2]

ölijy, Standard Finnish: öljy 'oil'

jalaka, Standard Finnish: jalka 'leg'

Inessive ending

maasa, Standard Finnish 'maassa'

Vowels -eä and -ea

korkia, Standard Finnish: korkea 'long'

Possessives

talonna, Standard Finnish: talomme, talonne 'our house, your house'.[2]

Pronouns

in the city of Oulu the pronoun "nää" is used instead of the written Finnish second person singular pronoun "sinä" .[3]
