Anal piercing

An anal piercing is a body piercing in the surrounding area of the human anus, usually the perineum.[1]

Despite the name, piercing of the anal sphincter itself is rather rare. Some report difficulty cleaning the area after defecation and increases chances of infection.[1]

There is no definitive piece of legislation on Age limits for piercings in England. However: some sources have posited that it may be an offence to perform a genital or anal piercing on someone under 16 without actually specifying which legislation prohibits it.[2] In Wales it is an offence to perform such a piercing on someone under 18.[3] In Scotland, it is an offence to perform the piercing on someone under 16 unless written permission is given by a parent or person with parental rights (such as a legal guardian)[4]
