Michael Howard, Baron Howard of Lympne KC (born 7 July 1941) is a British politician who was formerly leader of the Conservative Party. He was a Conservative MP for the constituency of Folkestone and Hythe from 1983 to the 2010 general elections. He was Home Secretary in John Major's government and led his party from 2003 to 2005, including at the 2005 general election, and also served as Leader of the Opposition. He was succeeded as Conservative leader by David Cameron and entered the House of Lords in July 2010.
