Zedge is a content distribution platform. Its content platform enables consumers to personalize their mobile devices with ringtones, wallpapers, home screen app icons, widgets and notification sounds.[2]

Amateur and professional artists can launch a virtual storefront in Zedge allowing them to market and sell their content to Zedge's global user base. The Zedge app has been downloaded more than 436 million times, has 30 million monthly active users as of August 31, 2020 and has consistently averaged in the ‘Top 60’ most popular free apps in Google Play in the US. Zedge was named as one of Time's Best 50 Android Apps of 2013.[3]
In 2019, the company launched a mobile app named Shortz.[4] In 2021, Zedge acquired online emoji encyclopedia Emojipedia.[5][6] In 2022, Zedge acquired photography and mobile gaming company GuruShots.[7]
History
Zedge was founded by Tom Arnøy, Kenneth Sundnes, and Paul Shaw in Norway in 2003.[8] In June 2016, Zedge's parent company was spun off from IDT[9] as a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.[10] As of 2018 it has offices in Trondheim, Vilnius, and New York City.
