Xylorycta polysticha

Xylorycta polysticha is a moth in the family Xyloryctidae. It was described by Turner in 1939. It is found in Australia,[1] where it has been recorded from Tasmania.

The wingspan is about 26 mm. The forewings are pale ochreous, irrorated, and streaked with pale fuscous and with shining white markings. There is a moderate costal streak from the base to two-fifths, as well as three short, slender oblique streaks running to the costa between this and the apex. A broad median streak is found from the base to the end of the cell at two-thirds, dilated in the middle to contain an elongate dark spot, and ending on a fuscous discal dot, from which two fine parallel streaks run to termen, beneath these three similar streaks, a fine streak on the fold and another broader on the dorsum extended on the termen to near the apex. The hindwings are pale grey.[2]
