Xu Mengjie

Xu Mengjie (born 19 June 1994), professionally known as Rainbow Xu, is a Chinese singer and actress. She was a member of the chinese girl group Rocket Girls 101, after finishing eleventh place in Tencent's girl group survival show Produce 101 China.[1]

Early life

On June 19, 1994, Xu Mengjie was born in Jinhua, Zhejiang. Her father ran a barbecue restaurant. Before her debut, she served as a specially invited dancer for variety shows such as Zhejiang Television, Chinese Dream Festival, I Love to Remember Lyrics, and I'm Not a Star.

Career

2015

In 2015, Xu Mengjie officially joined the Ladybees Team and became a hive trainee. Hive teams/trainees were made out of girls who didn't make it into the main group and who took part in the first & only ladybee elections. She was one of the winners of the elections showing that she was very popular within the group.[2]

2018

On April 21, 2018, She participated in the women's group competition program Produce 101 China produced by Tencent Video as a trainee, and finally ranked 11th place where she got total votes of 83,772,852 and joined Rocket Girls 101 and made her debut successfully.[3]

2019

In 2019, Xu starred as one of the protagonist for the first time in a web series titled Project 17:Spike produced by Penguin Film and Television, and jointly produced by Mango TV and co - produced by Mango TV.[4]

The play is adapted from the volleyball chapter of the Thai drama "Extreme S" series. It tells the story of a high school volleyball player as the protagonist, which means that after experiencing the bitterness, joy and troubles of youth, the story gradually grows up.

The play was broadcast on Tencent Video and Mango TV on September 24, 2019.[5]
