Metawin Opas-iamkajorn

Metawin was born in Bangkok, Thailand and he is the third among four siblings Mintra, Kasanant and Metas Opas-iamkajorn.[4]

He completed his primary education at Assumption College Primary Section and his secondary education at Panyarat High School, in grade 11 he had the opportunity to be an international exchange student at the Belmond–Klemme Community School District in Iowa, US and passed the General Education Development (GED) exam in the same year, he returned to Bangkok skipped 12th grade and went straight to study at the faculty of economics (international program) Thammasat University where he graduated in 2020 .[5][6]

During his time as an exchange student, he became a member of the school band's percussion choir where his group received a superior (Division I) rating.[7][8][2]

He is fluent in 3 languages: Thai, English and Chinese.[9]

In June 2020, Metawin launched his own sustainable fashion brand "VELENCE" who committed to donate part of its revenue to orphanages. In December 2020, the brand donated 100,000 baht each to Baan Phra Phon Foundation, Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health (Children's Hospital), The Orphanage of the Thai Red Cross Society, Thai Red Cross Society, and Mahamek Home for Children.[10][11] Later in the same year he also launched "SOURI" a confectionery business he co-owns with his sister, Mintra.[12][13]

Metawin's family owns a female Chihuahua dog named Charlotte, and in 2021, they adopted a pair of Shetland Sheepdogs named them Bentley and Cartier.[14]

In September 2021 Metawin launched his third business "VELATO" a premium ice cream brand that started receiving their first order on 9 September.[15][16][17]

In the first year of his career he is named as one of the 100 Influential People in the Fashion Industry of Thailand by Vogue Magazine.[18][19] He also part of the Howe Magazine "The 50 Most Influential People" alongside other influencers, businessmen, and executives who have achieved success in various fields.[20]

Due to his popularity and online presence he is signed with many local and international brands as an endorser and brand ambassador, including Shiseido,[21] Cathy Doll,[22] Colly Collagen,[23] Oishi Drink,[24] Voodoo Pillow,[25] Mama OK,[26] Dunkin Donuts,[27] Mistine Idolo,[28] Mali,[29] Lazada,[30] CP Brand,[31] DEOKLEAR,[32] Olay,[33] Viennetta,[34] Dutch Mill,[35] Vivo,[36] Isuzu,[37] TJ Nude,[38] KFC,[39] TaoKaeNoi,[40] Sunsilk Natural,[41] Globe Telecom[42] and many others.

The success of his press conference to launch CP Brand new products (Hokkaido Milk Sausage) in the format of Global Live made the Thai Sausage Brand trends worldwide on Twitter. The launch event become an interesting case study for marketers, advertisers and brand owners because with the same marketing tool that everyone has accessed to, the result was so different.[43]

In February 2021, Metawin became the first Thai artist to be advertised in space after one of his Chinese fanclubs organized a birthday project for the actor to be greeted via the Ladybeetle-1 commercial satellite. The advertisement, dubbed Into the Galaxy-Special Mission, displayed a photo of Metawin as the satellite orbited the earth on 17 February, his date of birth according to the Gregorian calendar.[44][45]

International Popularity of his debut series made a Japanese movie distribution companies offer the film projects to GMMTV. 2gether: The Movie premiered in Tokyo and initially scheduled to show in 30 cinemas across Japan, due the positive response grew almost 100 theaters in total.[46][47] The Japanese release of 2gether special album rank third on Oricon Daily Album Charts on the day of its released and rank 7th on Oricon Weekly Album Charts and 4th on Billboard Japan Weekly Album Sales.[48]

In 2021, he became the Thai actor who gained the most monthly Instagram followers consecutively.[49]
