History

Wellendorff boutique at the KaDeWe Berlin
The manufactory was established in Pforzheim in 1893 by Ernst Alexander Wellendorff, the business is now run by his great-great grandchildren.[1]

Example of a "Wellendorff rope"
The Wellendorff rope first appeared in 1977. To this day it is made in essentially the same way. To make a collier a goldsmith requires a solid gold wire roughly 160 metres long.[2] Since 1993 the company has produced a collection of cold enamel jewellery, especially rings. The rings revolve within themselves.[3]
