Twenty One Gms

Twenty One Gms is a Malayalam-language suspense thriller film written and directed by Bibin Krishna in his debut.[1] The film stars Anoop Menon as Crime Branch DYSP Nanda Kishore who investigates a series of murders that takes place within a week.[2] Twenty One Gms also features Renji Panicker, Leona Lishoy, Anu Mohan and Ranjith featuring in major supporting roles.[3] Produced by Rinish KN under the banner of The Front Row Productions, the cinematography of the film was done by Jithu Damodar and was edited by Appu N. Bhattathiri.[4] The soundtrack was composed by Deepak Dev, with lyrics written by Vinayak Sasikumar.[5]

Plot Summary

A series of murders takes place in a city within a span of few weeks. Nanda Kishore (Anoop Menon), the DYSP of Crime Branch is tasked with the investigation. Anjali found some incriminating evidence against her hospital CEO, John Samuel and tried to leak it to an independent reporter. Knowing this, John arranged her death. Incriminating evidence later found by Kishore uncovers unethical and unauthorized pharmaceutical trials conducted on healthy patients in John's hospital. Kishore's daughter was one of the victim of these medical trials and he was recovering from her death. Kishore who had figured out the unsub and the motive of the murders, shuts his eye cause it provides him and his family "an eye for an eye" kind of justice.

Filming

Pre-production work for the film started in December 2020 and was completed "within a span of 15 days".[3] Principal photography of the film commenced in January 2021 and concluded on March, carried out primarily at Kochi and Vagamon.[7]
