During Tom’s senior year at Boston College he was awarded a third team All-American, along with being a two time First Team All East linebacker under the guidance of Tom Coughlin. Tom McManus completed his bachelor's degree in Marketing while also playing football.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints in 1993, out of Boston College. He played 5 years in the NFL, all for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He currently resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife and three children. Tom McManus’s wife Kristina McManus is also a Jacksonville Jaguar Roar alumni. He is the host of a TV & Radio sports/entertainment show called "Tom McManus Uncensored". It can be heard weekday mornings from 6a-9a M-F, on Jacksonville's WFXJ (AM). Tom's television show, of the same name, airs on WCWJ weekly.

Along with Tom’s talk shows and appearances, he also has a published book, “We’ll Always Be Pals”, the last words of a dying father and a true hero. Tom’s book describes Tom’s relationship with his father, Gene McManus, throughout his life. Gene McManus, an insightful man, has seen the world's most historic events. Born in 1920, Gene was the product of the Great depression, he was a football star, a boxer, a pilot and POW during World War two. “We’ll Always Be Pals” is the story of a son and father 50 years apart in age yet still best friends. Unfortunately Eugene McManus passed too soon from cancer at the age 75, but his memory lives on through the beloved book.
