Despite coming from a relatively small school, Woolen's NFL Combine 40-yard dash time of 4.26 seconds and 42'' vertical jump boosted his draft stock tremendously, with analysts calling him a "once-in-a-lifetime" athlete and "draft steal" for the Seattle Seahawks.[10] Numerous analysts considered Woolen a raw prospect but likened him to NFL great Richard Sherman for Sherman's similar wide receiver to cornerback position transition. Furthermore, numerous analysts lauded the Seahawks, Woolen's draft team, for pursuing the "Pete Carroll" athletic mold, a defensive back scouting method pioneered by Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll during the legendary Legion of Boom era, through which coaches draft tall, strong defensive players as opposed to shorter prospects.[11]
