Souhardya De

Souhardya De FRAS (born 2004) is an Indian writer, columnist, and podcaster, from Midnapore, West Bengal.[1][2] He is a columnist for the Sunday Guardian[3] and a recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, a civilian award for Indian citizens under the age of 18, in 2021.[4] In late 2021, Souhardya was included among the 75 writer cohort formed to commemorate the Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav through research on aspects of Indian Freedom Struggle under the PM-YUVA Fellowship Scheme, by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.[5]

Personal life

De is a high school student at Vidyasagar Shishu Niketan in Midnapore, West Bengal.[6][7] His father, Shakti Prasad De is an assistant professor of History at the Midnapore College and his mother Jayati De is as a teacher at a government school, in West Bengal.[8]

Career

He is a columnist for the Sunday Guardian[9] and a podcaster, hosting a show called Cosmographia: The Graeco Romans, the Egyptians and Us.[3] As of late, De is engaged in working on a research project on Indian Freedom Struggle under the PM-YUVA scheme by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.[5]
