Shaumiani
Shaumiani (Georgian: შაუმიანი, Armenian: Շահումյան Šahumyan) is village in the Marneuli Municipality, Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. Until 1925 it was called Shulaveri or Shulaver (Armenian: Շուլավեր Šulaver) and then was renamed after Stepan Shahumyan. As of 2014, when it was downgraded from a daba (small town) to village,[1] its population was 3107 persons.[2]

It was the administrative seat of the Borchaly Uyezd until 1929, and of the Borchaly Raion until 1947 when it was transferred to Marneuli and the district was renamed.
