Gorakhpur Zoo

Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoological Park or Gorakhpur Zoological Garden commonly known as Gorakhpur Zoo is a Zoological Garden in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.[2][3][4][5] It is named after famous Indian freedom fighter, Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan. With an area of 121.342 acres,[1] it will be the second biggest zoo in Uttar Pradesh after Kanpur Zoological Park. It was opened for public on 27 March 2021.

There are currently 153 animals available in the zoo, including lions, tigers, hyenas, hippos, bears, monkeys, and different types of deer and birds. At its opening ceremony in March 2021, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the 151 species of animals in the zoo would be increased to 400, and that something new should be seen at the zoo by Diwali.[6]
