Selaginella gigantea
Selaginella gigantea (family Selaginellaceae) is a spike moss endemic to the montane rainforests of Venezuela, at an altitude of around 750 meters (2460 feet). It is noteworthy in being the only Selaginella species which is a true shrub, being up to 6.5 feet (two meters) in height by about half as wide. The leaves do not exceed 0.2 inch (0.5 Centimeter) in length by 1/18th inch (1.5 mm) in width. Strobili are up to two centimeters (0.8 inch) long by up to 1/12th inch (2 mm) in width.[1]
