Sanjay Mahindru
Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahindru, AVSM, NM is a Flag officer in the Indian Navy. Currently, he is Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff. He assumed charge on 31 Mar 2022. Prior to this, he served as the Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area (FOMA), having been appointed on 17 Oct 2016.[1][2][3] As FOMA, he initiated a number of initiatives to improve lives of Veterans.[4] and Naval Service persons.

He earlier served as Flag Officer Submarines.[5]
He joined the Navy in 1985 and qualified as a submariner.
As a submariner, he has commanded a conventional submarine, and assumed the first command of India's premier indigenous Nuclear Submarine, INS Arihant.[5]
He is an alumnus of the Joint Services Command and Staff College at United Kingdom.[1]
He commanded the Cadet's Training Ship, INS Krishna.[6][7]
