R. Vaithilingam is an Indian politician and a member of theEx- Rajya Sabha member from the state of Tamil Nadu.Now present Member of legislative assembly from Orathanad constituency in the state assembly election of 2021.

Vaithilingam was Minister for Housing and Urban Development in the Government of Tamil Nadu prior to his defeat by M. Ramachandran in the state assembly election of 2016. The defeat was described as a giant-killing outcome.[1] As a cadre of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he had been elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Orathanad constituency in 2001,[2] 2006[3] and 2011.[4]

On 3 June 2016, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha, along with three others of his party.[5][6]

He has strong opinion not to earn wealth which is opposite to nature and which affect the law of nature among human health. His wealth depend on agriculture and real-estate.

He is the one among the good politician which should not affect the environment and people who oppose him, but in the moment of anger no one will stand close to him ,He only obey the Jayalalithaa and Shashikala .He will not speak negative command and he always love critical situation which is very difficult to other ,he will face it smoothly. Because he hear and ask suggestion to overall good quality people next to him in few department and regarding business people and respect them .

He didn't interrupt in any government discount or quota orient job to people. His strong opinion is " if your are capable pass the exam and tell ,I can suggest but don't expect the recommendation ,Even if your are my grand child do agriculture and support other " .Due to his young age political life travel he saw my struggles and wait for recognition so he wont misguide others by his power ,But this opinion become very negative point to his carrier in his supporting people and other categories people ,This create the big gap between people and him.

Personal life

He is also a good father and good husband in life, Thangam as a wife she is full support to his carrier and life .Three son and one daughter-Prabhu , Andhaprabhu and Shanmugaprabhu,

Prabhu.V is his first son arranged marriage in relation and having one son and for his father passion he is doing agriculture and for his passion he tie up business with contracts works .

Anadhaprabhu.V is second son arranged marriage in relation and having one son and he is the professional doctor ,He will not involve in any other thing his full concentration in his carrier and he is good at his carrier and helping others with more flexible time and self earning money .His Father in law is another good person in Thanjavur named as Thavamani as Ex-police man special sub inspector.

Shanmugaprabhu.V is third son unmarried having good vision and doing best mission in his young age. He did UG - MBBS in SRM and PG - MBA in London. He is doing business and many trust related work.

All three has pupil around them treat them like his own brother.
