Professional career
Crous turned pro in 1977 and won the WBA cruiserweight title with a decision win over Ossie Ocasio in 1984. He defended the belt once, on March 30, 1985, at the Super Bowl conference hall in Sun City, South Africa, against American challenger Randy Stephens-when he recuperated from a third round knockdown to knock Stephens out in that same third round,[1] before losing it to Dwight Muhammad Qawi via TKO the following year. Crous was down twice in the 11th round. He retired in 1987.
