Nur ad-Din Shahanshah
Nur ad-Din Shahanshah[lower-alpha 1] (died 1148) was the eldest son of Najm ad-Din Ayyub and brother of Saladin,[1] who ruled Baalbek and Hama, and fathered Al-Muzaffar I Umar and Farrukh Shah.[2]
According to Ibn Khallikan, Shahanshah was killed during the siege of Damascus, fighting against the Crusader army, in Rabi' al-awwal AH 543 (July AD 1148).[3] He was buried in a cemetery in Sarouja, Damascus.[4]
