Matthew Alford

Matthew Alford is a British academic best known for the mixed media project The Writer with No Hands.

Career

Alford was awarded a doctorate in Film Studies by the University of Bath in 2008. He subsequently wrote articles for The Guardian,[1] New Statesman,[2] and Independent,[3] as well as Fortean Times.[4] Alford produced the documentary The Writer with No Hands, which followed his investigation into the disappearance of screenwriter Gary Devore and was reworked as a novel, stage play, and social media platform.[5][6] The documentary Theaters of War (2022) is based on his co-authored book National Security Cinema.
