It starts an essemble cast including Srikanth, Devayani, Sanghavi, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam and Ali. The film is the remake of Porkkaalam (1997).

Plot

Kind hearted Manikyam is a potter in a village living with his drunker father and his dump sister Lakshmi. His main aim in life is to get her married. He is always helpful and chirpy Each alliances fails to take off for a different reasons like insufficient money, ill intentions, robbery etc., He promises to marry Meenakshi that after his sister is married. At the end the sister stops dreaming about her marriage when she realizes the ordeals of her brother. She quietly sleeps in a kiln. Manikyam lights the fire thinking unknowingly his sister burns to death.
