MCI Capital
MCI Capital SA - private equity fund listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange[2] active in the Central and Eastern Europe. According to the Wall Street Journal MCI is one of Poland’s leading venture capital and private equity companies.[3] The company was founded by Tomasz Czechowicz, according to the Polish edition of Forbes magazine one of the richest Poles, with an estimated wealth of 520 million PLN (147 million USD).[4]

- 1999: MCI sp. z o.o. was founded
- 2000: MCI renamed to MCI Management S.A.

- 2004: Issue of 5-year convertible bonds (first time issued by an investment fund in Poland[5])
- 2005: First IPO of the MCI portfolio company: Travelplanet.pl[6]
- 2007: Creation of MCI Capital TFI SA; IPOs of MCI's portfolio companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange
- 2008: First buy-out transaction: ABC Data
- 2009: First fund with investment from state-owned the National Capital Fund and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development; Bankier.pl – full exit via trade sale; listing of convertible bonds on Catalyst (the Warsaw Stock Exchange-controlled market of bonds)
- 2010: IPO of ABC Data on the Warsaw Stock Exchange[7]
- 2015: $45 million round of funding in Auctionata from a group of international investors led by MCI Management[8]
- 2015: Change of name of the company to MCI Capital S.A.
- 2016: MCI.TechVentures finalized the sale transaction of the Invia Group for over PLN 327 million.
- 2017: MCI participates in financing the acquisition of Allegro, a transaction worth USD 3.25 billion. MCI.CreditVentures Fund provides financing in the amount of PLN 50 million.
- 2018: MCI.TechVentures has sold its entire stake in iZettle in one of the largest European acquisitions of technology companies of the last decade. The buyer is American PayPal.
- 2019: ABC Data S.A., the first buy-out investment from the MCI.EuroVentures portfolio was sold to one of the European IT distribution tycoons - the ALSO Group.
- 2020: MCI.EuroVentures and Mezzanine Management have agreed to sell 100 percent shares of ATM SA, the leader of the Polish data centers. The buyer is Global Compute Infrastructure LP, a platform supported by Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division.
- 2021: Israeli-based Gett, into which MCI has invested $ 40 million, is gearing up for its NASDAQ debut.
Business activity
MCI is focused on investments in digital economy in the expansion and buyout area. The preferred size of investments is EUR 25-100 M in a single project.[9]
MCI Management SA is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since February 2001 and is also a member of the Polish Private Equity Association.[10]
