Koya Urabe

Urabe made his debut at the second Krush event, against Shinichiro Ishii. He won the fight by a second-round TKO. He would win his next nine fights, going undefeated in the first ten fights of his career, and notably defeating Shota Takiya and Tetsuya Yamato. Urabe then entered the Krush First Generation King Tournament, defeating Lee Sung-hyun in the quarterfinals and Takuya Shirahama in the semifinals, but losing the final bout against Ryuji Kajiwara by majority decision. He participated in the K-1 World MAX 63 kg tournament, winning the quarterfinal bout against Yuki and the semifinal bout against Tetsuya Yamato, but once again coming up short in the final, as he lost a unanimous decision against Yuta Kubo.[7]

Following this loss, Urabe was scheduled to fight Marimo at Krush 11, whom he beat by unanimous decision. Urabe won the two preliminary Krush YOUTH tournament fights against Yuta Otaki and Makihira Keita by unanimous decision. Fighting in the final four tournament, Urabe beat Takahashi Yukimitsu by decision, but lost the final against Masaaki Noiri by KO, after Noiri knocked him out in the dying seconds of the first round.[8]

Urabe went on a 3–1 run over the next seven months, before entering the 2012 edition of the Krush YOUTH Grand Prix. He defeated Kengo Sonoda by knockout in the quarterfinals, Hiroto Yamaguchi by decision in the semifinals, Hisaki Higashimoto by a third-round knockout in the finals, to clinch his first professional title.[9]

In his next two fights, Urabe won a decision against Mikael Peynaud at Krush 25,[10] and suffered a DQ loss against Fumiya Osawa at Krush 27.[11]

Koya Urabe participated in the Krush 29 tournament, to crown the ISKA World Lightweight K-1 title. He defeated Fumiya Osawa by unanimous decision in the semifinals, and Xavier Bastard by TKO in the finals.[12]

After winning the ISKA title, Urabe fought Kimimura at Big Bang - Road to Unity 14, winning by unanimous decision.[13] At Krush 35, he was scheduled to fight Keijiro Myakoshi, and won the fight by majority decision.[14] Urabe was scheduled to fight Hicham Moujtahid at Krush 39, and won his third decision in a row.[15]

In May 2014, Urabe fought Yetkin Özkul for the ISKA World Super Lightweight title.[16] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[17]

After winning his second ISKA title, Urabe fought Shota PKSaenchaimuaythaigym at Krush 44, winning by a third-round TKO.[18] He fought Yang Guishan at Krush 46, and won by unanimous decision.[19]

Urabe took part in the 2015 K-1 Lightweight Grand Prix. He scored a TKO win over Denis Puric in the quarterfinals, a first-round knockout of Masahiro Yamamoto in the semifinals, and won the tournament by winning a unanimous decision against his brother Hirotaka Urabe in the finals.[20]

After winning the Lightweight title, Urabe fought three non-title bouts against Javier Hernández, Konstantin Trishin and Kang En, winning all three bouts by unanimous decision. Following these three wins, Urabe was scheduled to defend the lightweight title in a rematch with Hirotaka Urabe.[21] Koya lost the fight by a third-round knockout.[22]

After losing his title for the first time, Urabe was scheduled to fight Alexy Wallace at Krush 63. He won the fight by decision.[23]

He participated in the 2016 K-1 Japan Lightweight Grand Prix. In the semifinals, Urabe fought Koji, and won by a unanimous decision. In the semifinals, Urabe defeated Kotaro Shimano by TKO, after dropping him by low kicks in the second round. He faced Taiga Kawabe in the finals, and lost the fight by decision.[24]

Urabe entered the 2016 K-1 Lightweight Grand Prix. In the semifinals, Urabe won a unanimous decision against Karim Bennoui in the quarterfinals, defeated Paulo Tebar by a second-round TKO in the semifinals, and won the tournament by winning the rematch with Taiga Kawabe by knockout.[25]

After winning the Lightweight title for the second time, Urabe was scheduled to fight Gonnapar Weerasakreck in a non-title bout. Weerasakreck won the fight by a unanimous decision.[26] He was scheduled to fight another non-title bout seven months later, at Krush 80, against Yannick Reine. Urabe won by unanimous decision.[27] Urabe was scheduled to fight his third non-title bout in a row in November 2017, against Cristian Spetcu, whom he defeated by unanimous decision.[28]

He was scheduled to defend his title for the first time at K'Festa 1, against Wei Rui. Urabe won the fight by a second-round knockout.[29]

After successfully defending his title, Urabe was scheduled to fight Arthur Sorsor in a non-title bout. He won the fight by a knee knockout in the second round.[30]

Urabe was scheduled to defend the Lightweight title at K'Festa 2, against Kenta Hayashi. The fight went into an extra round, after which Hayashi won by decision.[31]

After losing his title, Urabe was scheduled to fight Zhu Shuai at Krush 103, losing by a first-round knockout.[32] During the 2020 K-1 World GP in Osaka, Urabe was scheduled to fight Yuto Shinohara. He won the fight by an extra round decision.[33] Urabe was then scheduled to fight Hikaru Hasumi at the K-1: K'Festa 4 Day 1 event, and won the fight by unanimous decision.[34]

Urabe was scheduled to fight Fumiya Osawa at K-1 World GP 2021 in Fukuoka.[35] He won the bout by unanimous decision, with scores of 30–29, 30-29 and 30–28.[36]
