Jacky Liew

Jacky Liew (simplified Chinese: 廖城兰; traditional Chinese: 廖城蘭; pinyin: Liào Chéng Lán) is a Malaysian Chinese food critic who writes under the pen name Si Gongzi (食公子).[1] He was a recipient of Medal for Outstanding Public Service (P.M.C) and has been serving as judge in the International Culinary competition.

Biography

Jacky Liew born in Malaysia, his ancestral home was south China's Guangdong province. He suffered dyslexia when he was young.[2]

Jacky Liew was a journalist and was writing food reviews since 1988.[3][4] Since 1996, he has been writing columns in various Malaysia national publications such as Feminine (Chinese: 风采), Oriental Feminine (Chinese: 美味风采), Nanyang Newspaper, first under the name Liao Chenglan, then Si Gongzi in 2000.[4]

In 2002, Liew became a lecturer at the Today's College of Agriculture, a private educational institution in Malaysia.[5]

In 2006, he became the National Business Coordinator of Nanyang Siang Pau.

In 2008, he received Medal for Outstanding Public Service (P.M.C) from the Tuanku Jaafar, the tenth Grand Ruler of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia and received the "World Food Gourmet" badge before the Eleventh Grand Ruler of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.[2]

Personal life

Liew is married to Christin Lee (李翠枝; Lǐ Cuìzhī).[6]
